Project : Nyetimber, West Sussex
We are currently on site delivering a bespoke Wine Pressing facility for Nyetimber in West Sussex. Nyetimber are producers of The finest English sparkling wine there is.
The new facility comprises two linked buildings to house presses and settlement tanks. The building requires particular mechanical systems to complete the vindication process.
The Design and Construct contract has been adapted to suit the specific requirements of the Client :
- Contractor designed excavation, earthworks and substructure including all below ground drainage to, and including, ground floor slabs.
- Consultant designed superstructure, fit out, finishes and services to form new pressing centre and associated accommodation including a temporary secure compound for the storage of operational CGC equipment.
The substructure is a bespoke basement construction tied in to the slab. The ground has been excavated and battered to allow a 4m deep reinforced concrete box which will hold the settlement tanks required for the wine pressing.
The excavated earth that has been dug out has been stabilized with lime to enable us to back-fill around the structure, thus ensuring no waste.
